"Art Deco Panther In Bronze And Marble, Signed Secondo, France, Circa 1930"
Superb Art Deco sculpture of a panther, created by Secondo in France around 1930. Beautiful green patinated bronze with an engraving technique that creates the illusion of fur. Resting on a rectangular base of greenish marble. Signed 'SECONDO' (the Italian artist who lived in France around 1930) on the left hind paw. Similar in form to the panther sculptures of Salvatore Melani. In good condition and very rare. A crack in the base has been repaired and is virtually invisible.
