"Pair Of Sèvres Porcelain And Gilt Bronze Cassolettes "
A very beautiful pair of Napoleon III Sèvres blue porcelain cassolettes. In perfect condition, they bear a stamp from the Tuileries Palace, indicating that they belonged to the palace when they were made under Louis Philippe, who decided to refurnish the royal palaces emptied during the Revolution. During receptions, certain objects were moved from one palace to another, and for ease of relocation, the pieces were marked accordingly (especially for tableware, but also for these cassolettes). The gallant scenes are signed by F. Bernier. The ornamentation is in gilt bronze with its original, uncleaned, yet still brilliant gilding. Highly decorative and in perfect condition.
