Lithograph, Signes By Olivier Debré, 20th Century
Lithograph by Olivier Debré (1920-1999) in two colors, Chinese black and yellow, on Arches wove paper, signed lower right and dated '81 in the stone.
This graphic work belongs to the artist's famous Signes-Personnages series, a body of work that connects his lyrical abstraction to the idea of a gestural human presence, inspired by ideograms.
The importance of Signes in Debré's work is confirmed by his 1997 collaboration with choreographer Carolyn Carlson and composer René Aubry for the cult ballet Signes, for which he designed the set and costumes.
Lithograph in very good condition presented in a black frame and a passe-partout with a white border which accentuates the graphic strength of the motif.
Dimensions of lithograph alone: 29.5cm x 24cm.
With frame: 45.2cm x 39.2cm. Shipping costs extra.
