Brass lamp with red patina and stylized plant motifs in brass and brown, mounted on an Asian-style walnut base, recent lampshade, WMF Ikora mark on the base, attributed to Paul Haustein. Germany, circa 1930.

Paul Haustein (1880-1944) was a goldsmith and book designer. He was part of the Darmstadt artists' colony in 1904 and later of the Deutscher Werkbund. He became a professor at the Württemberg School of Applied Arts in 1907 and served as its director from 1938 to 1940. In parallel, he created metal lamps for WMF Ikora around 1930.
