** Compendiario decoration:
The "compendiario" decoration, typical of the 17th century, serves to highlight the thick, opaque white glaze on which it is painted. It adorns the pieces with figures, putti, coats of arms, wreaths of leaves and flowers. It is characterized by a quick or succinct execution, enhanced with touches of red, blue, yellow, manganese, or green oxides, depending on the proportions of oxides used when painting the piece before firing. In Italian, "compendiare" means to summarize.
