A painted signature in Japanese characters appears on the right side. Kutani-yaki is a Japanese ceramic style that emerged in the 17th century in the Kutani region near Ishikawa. It is known for its polychrome colors, bold patterns, and glossy glazes. Its decorations are detailed and often inspired by nature or geometric designs.
