The SEVB signature corresponds to the "Société d'Exploitation des Verreries de Bagneaux" (Bagneaux Glassworks Company), a French company specializing in the creation of vases, lighting fixtures, and decorative glass objects in the 1920s and 1930s. The SEVB glassworks, located in Bagneaux-sur-Loing, produced art glass influenced by the Art Deco aesthetic.
The glassblowers then created decorative pieces such as vases, bowls, and carafes with clean, symmetrical, geometric shapes, characteristic of the style of the period. This art glasswork, less well-known than that of the major specialized houses, nevertheless testifies to the artisanal expertise of Bagneaux and its ability to combine technical innovation and aesthetic creation during the Art Deco period.
