Superb handwritten herbarium by Lucien de Rosny, comprising 40 watercolors and drawings. Titled "Fleurs d'agrément" (Adorning Flowers) on the spine and front page. Handwritten title page with a drawing, also featuring the title, published by Lucien de Rosny. Some watercolors are captioned and dated (1850). Album dimensions: 33 x 22 cm. A unique copy! Lucien de Rosny (1810-1871), a scholar, historian, archaeologist, and ethnologist, was interested in numerous subjects. A member of several learned societies and a resident of the American Society of France, he was renowned for his watercolor skills. He notably published "Visite au musée de Douai, précédente d’une promenade au jardin botanique" (Visit to the Douai Museum, Preceded by a Walk in the Botanical Garden).
