"Rock in the Forest of Fontainebleau." A student of Hersent, he exhibited at the Salon from 1834 to 1866.

Alfred Robaut 1830-1909 was a draftsman and engraver. In 1852, he married Elisa Juliette Dutilleux, the eldest daughter of Constant Dutilleux, himself a painter and friend of Eugène Delacroix and Jean-Baptiste Camille Corot. He compiled the catalogues raisonnés of these two artists. Alfred Robaut's collection was sold in Paris at the Hôtel Drouot, with three sales taking place between 1907 and 1919.
