Large Imari Baluster Vase Decorated With Landscapes - Japan, Edo, Late 17th/early 18th Century
Large baluster vase with a long flared neck in Arita porcelain, decorated in the Imari palette with lakeside landscapes in fan-shaped reserves and red and gold chrysanthemums and peonies on a blue ground, and decorated with gilt floral scrolls.

These vases are commonly mounted in bronze, and most often pierced by electricity; this one is unaltered.

Wear to the gilding, a crack at the neck, a tiny chip repaired at the base, some scratches in the glaze. A few small fritting and firing flaws in places. Good overall condition.
