"Large Platter, Pierre Delbet, Late 19th Century"
Large circular earthenware dish with a metallic luster, decorated with apple branches in shades of green, ochre, and purple. Marked “PD/1894” on the reverse.
Pierre Delbet (1861-1957) was a French physician and surgeon who, alongside his research, also pursued a career as a ceramist and sculptor. Several of his works are now in the collection of the Musée d'Orsay.
Small chips on the reverse.
Minor firing flaws.
Good overall condition.
