Magnificent work table in veneer and marquetry of amaranth, birch, ebony, maple, and holly with multi-lobed box and fully girded inlaid with a decoration of dragonflies on a background of foliage. The tickled plateau forms a flap decorated with a marquetry thought and revealing a raw interior (missing the padding). The tubular tripod base is made of alisier decorated with patinated bronze grasshoppers in the upper part and small turtle in the lower part on a triangular spacer with pansy marquetry and small flattened sherical skates.
A model of this table was presented at the Paris Universal Exhibition in 1878.
