Belgian painter. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Molenbeek from 1926. He developed his own artistic style, inspired by realism and surrealism, where dream and reality, woman and vegetation are closely linked. Co-founder and member of the "Jecta" Circle with René Magritte.
