Ernest Blancher (French 1855-1935) A large and beautiful Limoges enamel portrait of a Gypsy lady, mounted in a carved giltwood frame. Signed E. Blancher Limoges.

Enamel plaque: Height: 18cm (7.1in). Width: 13cm (5.1in)
Frame: Height: 28.3cm (11.1in). Width: 22.3cm (8.8in)
Condition:
The enamel: In excellent, undamaged condition.
The frame: The carved frame is undamaged. The mount has fine splits above and below the enamel.
Notes: French master-enameller Ernest Blancher was the successor to the workshops of F. Lot and Louis Dalpayrat in Limoges and exhibited at the Universal Exhibition of 1889 and the Philomathic Society of Bordeaux in 1895.
