Oak frame. Poplar back.
2 x 8 antique panes (bubbles, warps, etc.), 4 of which are broken. These will be replaced before sale.
2 x 5 shelves in pine, poplar, oak, and elm (back then, they made do with what they had!).
This is likely an old wardrobe converted into a display cabinet or bookcase.
Some traces of these alterations are visible, particularly on the central vertical partition, which is notched to accommodate the lock.
The ornamentation and motifs appear to have been added during this conversion.
Lock and key are functional.
The left door is held open by a spring-loaded blade that is unlocked by passing your hand through a hole carved into the central partition. Not very academic, but original!
