It merged with Brignogan-Plages to form the new commune of Plounéour-Brignogan-Plages. Georges Levreau (1867-1936) was a French painter born in Nantes. His work comprises numerous portraits, still lifes, and landscapes. He is also responsible for the decoration of the Italian-style theater in La Roche-sur-Yon.
