Sèvres - Important Centerpiece - Hunting Scene By J. Mascret After J.b. Oudry, Late 19th Century
An important and rare centerpiece, known as a stag hunting centerpiece, in Sèvres biscuit porcelain by Jean Mascret after Jean-Baptiste Oudry. First and only produced in the 18th century for Louis XVI, this hunting centerpiece was re-produced several times in the 19th century, notably for the Duke of Aumale in 1848. In good condition, with some old restorations, on a wooden base painted to resemble Royal red marble. Sèvres mark impressed into the foot. Dimensions: H 34 cm, base H 5.5 cm, W 54 x D 35 cm
