"18th Century Marquetry Table/pedestal Table"
An 18th-century marquetry table/pedestal table. This marquetry depicts a true scene of life, showcasing the countryside through its finest attributes: walnut burl, walnut rosewood, maple, sycamore, cherry, ash, mahogany, boxwood and ebony inlay, etc. The scene features a church at its center, surrounded by trees, figures, paths, hills, landscapes, and, most notably, a hot air balloon. The apron, decorated with a cube motif, further highlights the quality of the craftsmanship through its contrasts. The slender, tapered legs are decorated with marquetry fluting on an ebony and lemonwood ground. The bronze mounts are urn-shaped with a handle set on a ribbon inlay. A rare piece. Delivery possible, but not included in the price.
