I am pleased to present this superb bronze representation of a monk in deep meditation. The figure is exquisitely sculpted, and the facial expressions are incredibly lifelike. A beautiful patina covers the piece, with traces of gold gilding and red lacquer. Dressed in traditional monastic robes, the monk holds a Buddhist prayer bracelet in his right hand. Seated cross-legged, this elderly monk exudes a profound and reassuring serenity. A seal of the Qianlong Emperor is engraved beneath the base.
