Pair of French Directoire Period Green Lacquered Beech Armchairs (1795–1799)
Description:
A refined pair of green lacquered beech armchairs, retaining their original lacquer. The armchairs feature rear sabre legs and front "Jacob" legs. The carved connecting blocks, equipped with scrapers, support baluster-shaped uprights. Their generous seats and reclined backs make them both comfortable and elegant pieces.
This work, likely Parisian, dates from the very late 18th century. The armchairs, in good used condition.
