Superb gray-bodied porcelain bowl from the Ming dynasty. Decorated with interlaced friezes in underglaze blue. The porcelain is very smooth to the touch, reminiscent of jade. A Chinese character is engraved inside the bowl. In ancient China, objects were often shared within the community; owners would mark their items to identify them later, which explains the presence of symbols like the one on this bowl, made directly into the glaze. This makes it a unique object, clearly used long ago.
