Muller Frères Luneville Chandelier Snowscape Bundle Gatherers
Artist: Muller Frères Luneville
A rare Art Nouveau chandelier by Muller Frères Luneville, crafted from multi-layered glass etched with acid-etched scenes of a snowy landscape featuring two women gathering firewood. This theme, dear to Jacques Callot, also from Lorraine, is revisited here by the Muller brothers. The chandelier boasts superb, luminous colors dominated by blue. The effect is exceptional, with snow clinging to the trees and the ground. The original, high-quality, hammered wrought iron frame features oak leaves and acorns, echoing the motif of the snow-covered trees. The bowl measures 45 cm in diameter, and the maximum height is 137 cm. It can be shortened by 20 cm, to 117 cm, by removing the original extension links shown in the photos. Very good condition. Rewired. Note that the bowl rests on the frame's rim, yet has three holes (concealed by the frame). This original feature suggests that this glass model was designed for two types of frames.
