Sculptural chandelier/fruit basket in black perforated iron, in the style of Mathieu Matégot, circa 1955. A rare modernist piece in openwork metal with a clover motif, typical of 1950s French design. The matte black wrought iron tripod supports a perforated basket and a vertical arm adorned with circular trays, evoking the balance between sculpture and functional art object. Wrought iron welded and painted black, clover motif identical to that of the Matégot and Artimeta workshops. French work, likely handcrafted, inspired by post-war design and the Brutalist movement. Homogeneous patina, solid welds, stable structure.
