Famous for his landscapes of Normandy, including Deauville, Honfleur, and Trouville, he painted family scenes, beach vacations, and the joy of life. He also painted Nice and Venice. With a pied-à-terre in Paris, he painted many Parisian neighborhoods in a Belle Époque atmosphere. He often used cardboard or hardboard panels for his paintings, which gave him greater freedom when working outdoors. It was after his death, in It was in 1990 that his works were revealed to the general public and sold in numerous galleries in France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and especially the United States of America.
