Exceptional Flemish tapestry, 17th century, in wool and silk. Lined, in very good condition. Fresh colors, lovely border of flowering foliage. The scene depicts Rebecca at the well. Numerous figures and animals (sheep, dog). Rebecca is a character from Genesis, the first book of the Bible. The scene shows Rebecca holding the chain of the bucket, intended to water animals and visitors. Among them is Isaac, who has come to find a wife... The men offer sumptuous gifts to Rebecca to entice her to come with them. A very fine tapestry measuring 3.70 meters wide by 2.97 meters high.
