"Straight Snake, Said Forveille"
                    
                    Forveille straight serpent in perfect condition. Playable instrument. The straight serpent was invented in 1823 by Forveille, who gave it his name. The Forveille serpent is made of wood covered in leather and has a brass mouthpiece and bell. Its general shape is roughly similar to that of a bassoon. The inside of the bell, where the maker's mark is usually located, is painted red.
