Elegant bombe chest of drawers in Louis XV style and period, France, circa 1770.
Two-drawer commode in finely inlaid kingwood with herringbone pattern, embellished with rich rocaille-style gilt bronze mounts. The handles, central cartouches, escutcheons, and corner ornaments feature a flowing and asymmetrical design, typical of the Rococo aesthetic of the 18th century.
Branded with the fire stamp "Courtois Reudeseine" on the upper corner, indicating it originated from the workshop of the renowned Parisian cabinetmaker Jacques Marin Courtois.
The original and period marble top is in pink breccia with a shaped edge, harmoniously matching the warm wood tones of the piece. The gently curved legs and floral ornaments enhance the graceful silhouette.
This commode represents a refined example of French decorative furniture, ideal for classic interiors, living rooms, or bedrooms, either as a focal point or functional piece.
Very good condition: solid structure, intact marble, inlay and bronzes in excellent shape, with minor wear consistent with age.
