Artist: Attributed to François Charles Cachoud (1866-1943), French artist, signed lower right. Cachoud studied under Neo-classical painter Jules-Élie Delaunay (1828-1891) and Gustave Moreau (1826-1898), father of French Symbolism. He was decorated as Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur in 1910 and won a gold medal at the 1937 Paris Universal Exhibition. His works are held in prestigious collections including Musée des Beaux-Arts, Chambéry; Musée du Petit Palais, Paris (France); and Philadelphia Museum of Art (USA).
