Mathurin Méheut - Sailboat Drawing - Museum Provenance

Lovely grease pencil drawing with colour highlights representing a sailboat in a port in Brittany (the building on the left resembles the belfry of Concarneau).
Note the beautiful readability with well-defined elements and a very beautiful graphic rendering !

This drawing was formerly in the collections of the Mathurin MÉHEUT Museum in Lamballe, in fact between 1962 and 1972, the artist's wife and daughter donated 10,000 works to the association "les amis de Mathurin Méheut" which allowed the creation of the Museum.
In 2008, following the contestation of the donation made by the painter's heirs, it was decided by mutual agreement to return to them half of the 10,000 works received (i.e. 5000).
This drawing is one of them.
