"Carved Black Stone Buddha. Medieval India, Pala Period, 11th Century."
The statuette is carved from a very hard black stone, probably basalt. It represents Buddha sitting in meditation. Medieval Indian work, probably from the 10th-12th century, Pala period. Very worn. Height 113mm. No repairs.
