Artist: Non Signé
Pair of gilt bronze lamps – Childish allegories, Napoleon III period – 19th century Elegant pair of lamps from the Napoleon III period (19th century), in finely chiseled gilt bronze resting on veined white marble bases. Each lamp depicts an antique child figure, similar to representations of cherubs or putti, in allegorical attitudes evoking the harvest and abundance (sheaves of wheat, cornucopia). The bronze work is of fine quality, with well-preserved original gilding, highlighting the draperies, expressions and attributes. The marble bases provide an elegant and contrasting base to the whole. The current lampshades (made from a fabric with silver highlights) can be kept or replaced according to the buyer's taste.
