Set Of 5 Solid Oak Chairs By Seltz Manufacture 1970's
Artist: Manufacture De Seltz
Set of 5 solid oak chairs by the Seltz factory 1970's
The Seltz Cabinetmaking Factory, founded in the 1930s by Robert Seltz in Mittelbergheim, perpetuates a long line of talented craftsmen in solid woodworking. Specializing in the design, manufacture of kitchens, traditional seating and community furniture, the company distinguished itself in the 1960s under the direction of Robert's sons, André and Edy Seltz. Encouraged to push the boundaries of creation, the workshop collaborated with designer Pierre Chapo to create unique pieces in solid wood, elegant and imbued with authentic character. These creations demonstrate rare craftsmanship: visible assemblies, meticulous finishes, respect for noble species such as elm or beech. This rigor is sometimes found in the objects offered (table, sideboard, etc.), combined with a warm patina and a timeless silhouette. Each piece of Manufacture de Seltz furniture embodies a subtle alliance between utility and aesthetics, faithful to the spirit of contemporary design of artisan origin.
