"Red Maternity By Adrien Seguin - 1972 Gouache On Paper"
A mother playing with her two children and holding an acoustic guitar in an expressive and extremely colorful style by Adrien Seguin, a French painter born in Africa who practiced his art in the south of France, between the Pyrenees and the Côte d'Azur. He was born in 1926 and spent his first twenty years on the African continent where his father worked as an engineer. He was awarded numerous prizes and participated throughout his career as an artist in prestigious exhibitions in France and abroad. He died in 2005 in Montpellier. This brightly colored work dated 1972 revolves around the figure of the mother. Her two children seem to be joining forces in a mischievous game, one teasing her hair while the other crawls on her legs. Holding a guitar in her left hand, she prevents her offspring from falling with her right. Signed in black lower left, this flamboyant gouache is a real eye-catcher. Under glass, in a black rod frame. Dimensions of the work: 50x65cm
