Biography :
Maurice Bouval (1863-1916) was aFrench sculptor in the Art Nouveau style. A student of Alexandre Falguière,Maurice Bouval created a large number of bronze statues and decorative objects(candlesticks, candelabras, light fixtures, inkwells) between 1880 and theFirst World War. He participated in the 1900 Universal Exhibition in Paris. Hewas a member of the Society of French Artists. His works include: Ophelia, Seated Woman, Sleep, Woman with Poppies,The Secret, and The Pensive.
