Elegantly shaped French Art Deco office chair, fully restored.
Beautiful curves and slightly accentuated backrest. Reupholstered with a black gloss finish, reupholstered with off-white leather in a striped pattern. Using a special process, a traditional napped leather is printed with a striped or galuchat pattern (embossed cowhide).
This "Galuchat" leather takes its name from the Frenchman Jean-Claude Galuchat, who, at the court of Louis XV, covered luxury objects with stingray.
The chair belongs to the Art Deco secretary (see photo), which can also be seen on proantic, but can also be purchased separately.
