"Mercy Of The Stall Of A Church, High Period."
In religious furnishings, the misericord is a small movable seat placed under the seat of a church stall. When the seat is raised, it represents a sort of small support on which one can sit while appearing to stand. This is called a misericord or patience. The model presented is a misericord with the clapper of the stall seat, it represents a grotesque head in carved oak. In used condition, I note a small lack on the right ear in the main photo. Dimensions of the clapper: Length 60 cm, width 26.5 cm, depth 17 cm.
