Superb Napoleon III planter in blackened wood, decorated with Boulle marquetry combining brass and mother-of-pearl. Its elegant curved base highlights the finesse of the cabinetmaking work of the second half of the 19th century. Ornamentation in gilded brass, finely chiseled sabots and frames. French work, circa 1880. Very good general condition.
