Gilt Bronze And Biscuit Porcelain Centrepiece – Napoleon III Period
A superb and refined centrepiece in finely sculpted biscuit porcelain, mounted on a richly chased gilt bronze base.
The shaped base is adorned with delicate bas-reliefs depicting putti in a mythological-inspired setting, as well as finely modelled figures in the round.
The upper section rises into an elegant gilt bronze floral arrangement, enhanced with polychrome porcelain flowers. Three gracefully curved light arms support bobeches adorned with crystal drops, bringing brilliance and lightness to the composition.
A fine example of Napoleon III decorative taste, combining richness of materials and refined craftsmanship.
