Lacquer Travel Box With Mount Fuji & Cranes Decor, Japan, 19th Century

Beautiful and refined travel box in gold lacquer with decoration of Mount Fuji & Cranes, Japanese work XIXth Meiji period. It is composed as follows on the lid of an animated decoration in the foreground, cranes at the edge of a watercourse, flowers and flowering branches in the 2nd second plan of a flight of eight cranes in the background Mount Fuji .... six-character signature at the bottom right. Its sides animated with fans of finely made decoration landscapes, birds, flowers etc ... the interior in gold powdered lacquer decorated with a retractable tray, on the right side is a deep drawer. box of extreme refinement bringing together different techniques of master lacquerers including Shibayama , Nashiji ,Maki-eetc .... note some old retouching on the black lacquer (wear from use)
