These chairs, produced by the French manufacturer Aranjou in Angers, fully embody the brutalist aesthetic: sculptural, organic and visually powerful. Made of solid wood (mainly dark elm), they display a strong personality through their "T"-shaped backrest, asymmetrical proportions and a "free-form" look amplified by slightly tapered legs. Inspired by tribal and modernism, these models evoke a spontaneous and deeply artisanal design. Initially attributed to the Nordic designer Olavi Hänninen, notably because of their resemblance to the "Juha" chair he designed in 1958, recent research has confirmed that they were indeed produced in France by Aranjou.
