The symbols present are, at the top center, the sun and the moon; on the left hand, an axe and a shovel (it seems to me); in the middle and center, the enchantillon (piece of wood cut in a particular way and which serves as a means of recognition to the Good Coal Cousins); on the right hand, a ladder and a hammer probably used to mark the trees.
Two groups of letters: F(oi) E(hope) C(harité) and H(onneur) V(ertu) P(robité); each first letter is followed by a period, each second by two points, each third by three points arranged in an equilateral triangle.
