Trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław, he initially faced censorship from the communist regime before making a name for himself on the international scene. Settling in Canada in the 1970s, he developed a vibrant and playful style, recognizable by his colorful portraits and miniatures painted on the noses of his characters. His work, exhibited in more than 250 galleries worldwide, reflects a creative freedom nourished by exile, humor and poetry.
