Rare Sèvres porcelain sugar pot, Empire period 1806-1807 Height 14.5cm. Sugar pot with scrolled porcelain handles, with polychrome decoration of bouquets of flowers in oval reserves framed by waders with swan wings scraped in grisaille on a gold background, the shoulder decorated with dolphins, oars and ivy garland, the lid grip and handles with a red background and gold ornaments. Imperial Manufacture of Sèvres, year XIV (1805-1806). Provenance - Offered in 1807 by order of the Emperor to Count Régnault de Saint-Jean d'Angély (1760-1819), State Councilor on the occasion of the marriage of Prince Jérôme Bonaparte with Princess Catherine of Würtemberg. This sugar bowl is described in the factory's credit sales records: "A sugar pot with a gold base and rich flower motifs and id. ornaments" at a price of 172 francs (Arch.
