Very pretty pair of 18th century engravings depicting two elegant women with hairstyles in the fashion of the time. These engravings come from the magazine "Le Cabinet des Modes ou les Modes Nouvelles", dedicated to clothing, jewelry and goldsmithing. All the plates in these magazines were engraved by Duhamel, based on drawings by Leclerc, Desrais, Pugin, Duhamel and two artists identified by their initials: B. and L. Le Cabinet des Modes was the first French fashion magazine to be published regularly. This pair of engravings depicts two women's hairstyles: The first presents a hairstyle called "l'Ingénue", with a straw hat and a large feather. A blue shawl, held in place by a jewel on the front, surrounds the hat. The woman wears creole earrings. The second engraving depicts a hairstyle called "le Hérisson", decorated with hooks and flowers. These two engravings depict women with hairstyles and clothes in the style of Rose Bertin.
