Contemporary ring in 750/°° yellow gold (18 KT, owl hallmark), in the general shape of a ribbon, adorned in its center with two lines of princess-cut diamonds (square) on inclined V-shaped sides. These two lines of diamonds are highlighted, by contrast, by a paving of square-shaped sapphires, which are set edge to edge, on the body of the ring, so that no metal appears between them: this is a particularly elaborate setting process, developed by Van Cleef & Arpels in the 1930s, under the name of "Serti Mystérieux". Indeed, nothing seems to hold the stones, unlike the claws and other settings traditionally used in jewelry...... This particularly demanding process is applied to beautiful materials, and in fact the fine sapphires mounted here are of particularly high quality, with a strong color and a lively shine.
