"Art Nouveau Nesting Tables In Majorelle Style"
Rare set of 4 French Art Nouveau nesting tables, probably designed in the workshops of Louis Majorelle (Nancy, France), dating from around 1885-1890. These finely crafted pieces demonstrate the mastery of natural forms and marquetry dear to Louis Majorelle. All 4 have wisteria motifs but each has a different insect, including the famous dragonfly often represented in Majorelle's work. Made of native woods with elegant curves and fine details, they have the characteristics and craftsmanship that made the reputation of the Ecole de Nancy, of which Majorelle was one of the presidents and founders.
