Female Statue, Copper Alloy, Senoufo People, Ivory Coast
Rare metal statue of a woman sitting on a stool. Her hands are placed around a protruding navel, which is decorated with scarifications. She wears anklets, arm bracelets, and a large pendant that covers her breasts. The headdress is elaborate with a crest and four falling buns. Very fine execution for this statue made with the lost wax technique.
