"Italian Village Square In The 18th Century "
Village square in Northern Italy animated by people of different conditions at the end of the 18th century. It is likely that the canvas illustrates a scene from a play from the time of Carlo Goldoni or another author. The characters are painted quite quickly as in the veduta which makes me think that the painting is possibly from the end of the 18th century. Unfortunately, the painting is damaged, the restoration has only just begun with a relining and placing on a stretcher with a key and there are still many gaps to fill, which explains the low price. The painting is sold without a frame.
