A rare treasure! This Vintage cross, set with Perpignan Garnets, in 18ct Gold, in paillon.

Perpignan Garnets, of a different size and color from other Garnets. They are highly prized and collected due to their rarity.

These Garnets come from Roussillon, France. The mines have since closed.

"Since the 18th century, Garnets have been cut in this way, in the shape of a Rose, like Diamonds. "In paillon" the stone is covered with a layer of tinted foil to enhance its color, then foiled again in gold".
