French officer's sabre from the Empire period. The scabbard is made of steel and brass where we find the inscription AO 1800. The pommel is made of blackened wood. On the blade, we read: This sword was token in a boat action during the great French War by William John VIII th Lord Napier Lieutenant Royal Navy. Length 101 cm
